Solberg

Solberg

Solberg wind farm was developed by Arise and sold to Fortum in 2016. The farm is located outside Örnsköldsvik in Västernorrland and Västerbotten counties, approximately 30km south of Åsele. Solberg consists of 22 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 76 MW and is a typical example of wind power production in cold winter conditions. The area consists mainly of coniferous forest with elements of bogs and small watercourses. The grid connection is via an underground cable to a grid station in the farm.

Arise is responsible for the technical, financial and commercial management of the wind farm.

Community benefit funds

The annual grants from the community benefit funds aim to promote local activities in sports, culture and youth activities, activities to promote the environment and other activities in the local area to make it more attractive to live, work and visit the area around the wind farm. The activities must be perceived as socially and/or environmentally sustainable. Applications for the community benefit funds are handled by Åsele Municipality and Örnsköldsvik Municipality.
