Tormsdale Wind Farm is located immediately west of the existing Causeymire Wind Farm, on land 8.5 km south of Halkirk in Caithness. The original application submitted to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit (ECU) in October 2021 was to install and operate a project consisting of 12 wind turbines and associated infrastructure. Following consultation through the application process, the design of the project has been amended and now comprises up to 10 turbines, with a generation capacity exceeding 50 MW, including associated infrastructure, and an approximately 25 MW capacity battery energy storage facility.
